How can I arm and disarm my Fortress alarm system?
This article shows a few different methods for how to arm and disarm your Fortress alarm system.
Disarming
From the Main Panel
S02 - Enter your 4-digit password, then press Disarm.
GSM - Enter your 4-digit password, then press Enter. If the GSM panel is counting down with a delay and beeping once per second, you'll need to enter your password between those beeps.
Total Security - Enter your 4-digit password, then press Disarm (the button above 'OK')
Using a Remote Key Fob
Press the Disarm button on the remote key fob (icon of an unlocked padlock).
Over the Phone
If the system called you, answer the call and press 2 to disarm. (For S02, press # to also stop the system from calling other numbers in the list).
If you called the system instead, you'll need to enter your password first, then press 2 to disarm the system.
RFID Keypad / Key Tags
You can swipe an RFID key tag in front of the RFID keypad to disarm the system. The Total Securtiy system also has RFID built into the main panel, as well.
You can also enter your 4-digit password on the RFID keypad, then press Disarm.
Using the Free Mobile App (Total Security Only)
If you have the Total Security system with the free mobile app, you can open the app on your smartphone, and tap the Disarm button on the Function Tab.
Arming in Away / Out Mode
From the Main Panel
Make sure that the system is Disarmed and not in Programming / Set mode before attempting to arm the system.
S02 - Press and hold the Out button for 5 seconds, or until you hear a beep.
GSM - Press the Away Arming button (to the left of the "1" key). You don't need to hold the button down.
Total Security - Press the Arming button once (button in the top-right corner of the keypad).
If there is an exit delay enabled in your system, the exit delay will count down for a certain number of seconds before the system will arm fully. If you have no exit delay set, then the system will arm immediately.
Using a Remote Key Fob
Press the Away Arming button on the remote key fob (icon of a locked padlock).
Over the Phone
Call the system, enter your password, then press 1 to arm the system in Away Mode.
RFID Keypad
You can enter your 4-digit password on the RFID keypad, then press the Arm button (icon of a locked padlock)
Using the Free Mobile App (Total Security Only)
If you have the Total Security system with the free mobile app, you can open the app on your smartphone, and tap the Arm button on the Function Tab to arm the system in Away Mode.
Arming in Home Mode
From the Main Panel
Make sure that the system is Disarmed and not in Programming / Set mode before attempting to arm the system.
S02 - Press and hold the Home button for 5 seconds, or until you hear a beep.
GSM - Press the Home Arming button (to the left of the "4" key). You don't need to hold the button down.
Total Security - Press the Arming button 2-3 times (button in the top-right corner of the keypad). When the icon of the Home is highlighted, the system is armed in Home Mode.
NOTE:
For Total Security, If the Away Arming Mode has a delay set, we need to press the arming button 3 times to arm in Home Mode. The first press begins the delay, the second press skips the delay to arm in Away mode, and the third press arms in Home mode instead.
If the Away Arming Mode has no delay, we only need to press the arming button 2 times to arm in Home Mode.
Using a Remote Key Fob
Press the Home Arming button on the remote key fob (icon of a house).
RFID Keypad
You can enter your 4-digit password on the RFID keypad, then press the Hoem Arm button (icon of a house)
Using the Free Mobile App (Total Security Only)
If you have the Total Security system with the free mobile app, you can open the app on your smartphone, and tap the Home button on the Function Tab to arm the system in Home Mode.
