This sensor is a magnetic contact sensor for doors, windows, and other entry points. When the magnet and the sensor are separated, the sensor sends a wireless signal to trigger the alarm. When you mount one piece on the door or window, and the other piece on the frame, the sensor will activate whenever the door or window is opened. For best performance, you should not mount this sensor directly on a metal surface. The sensor and the magnet should be no further than ¼ inch apart when the door or window is closed. When applying the adhesive tape, make sure that you are mounting on a clean, flat, dry surface. A starter battery is included with the sensor, and we offer additional 23A batteries for purchase on our web site.

  • One “23A” 12-Volt battery
  • 433MHz wireless signal
  • ~ 150 ft. range, with line of sight
  • LED light flashes for 1-2 seconds to indicate activity
  • LED lights up solid to indicate a low battery
  • Magnetic sensor protects doors, windows, and other entry points
  • Tamper switch prevents removing a sensor from its mounting place
  • Ready To Arm - system knows if a door or window is left open
  • Mount on a clean, flat, dry surface. Place a spacer between the sensor and any metal surfaces.
  • LED light shows activity and low battery warning

Fortress Total Security Door/Window Contact Description

The Fortress Total Security Door/Window Sensor is the front line of defense for your home, business or RV. These sensors are designed to detect a door or window being opened. When used with the Total Security systems Ready to Arm feature, these sensors will notify the panel if they are not closed. The panel will then let you know to close the door before arming will be possible. We recommend a Contact sensor for every door and window on the ground level to ensure that any entry is detected as soon as possible.

These sensors do not work with the GSM or S02 panel.

Very easy website to navigate; although the manuals in package F should be noted for customers of the system from Basic on up to F.

Works great...just not for us because of our phone system which is for a business. But if you are looking for this for your home or small business it is a great buy. Easy to use and set up and if you are wanting a horn alarm well, be prepared to have a loud one! I like that you can buy different add-ons for your needs.

Q

What is the operating temperature range for the door/window magnetic sensor?

A

Hello Terry, The operating temperature range in the panel can go to 14F to 104F Ni-MH, 14F to 104F for sensors as well. Functions in Relative humidity <= 90% Please let us know if you have any other questions! Thank you, Astrid

Q

Love the sensor but upon changing batteries the "tamper" switch trips the alarm which I understand but is there a way to "quiet" the system when changing batteries?

A

Hi David, Thanks for your inquiry. To prevent the system from triggering the alarm when changing batteries simply unplug and flip the ON/OFF switch on the panel to OFF. Then replace any batteries and flip the switch back to on/plug the power back in. I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any further questions, thanks!
